Support in a mental health crisis

The 24 hour Mental Health helpline offers advice, support and if suitable assessment for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

Callers can expect to speak to mental health advisors and/or trained mental health clinicians who will be able to listen to your concerns and help make appropriate plans with you.

Anyone already in receipt of mental health support should try to speak to their usual team before calling the Crisis Team.

Call 999 or go to A&E now if:

  • Yours or someone’s life is at risk – for example, they have seriously injured themselves or taken an overdose
  • You do not feel you can keep yourself or someone else safe

Support for common mental health difficulties 

If you are experiencing feelings such as stress, depression or anxiety there is lots of support available for you. Healthy Minds is a non-emergency self-referral service and can support people to access talking therapies, group support or online courses to support their mental wellbeing.

If you live in Worcestershire, are over the age of 16 and registered with a GP call: 0300 302 13 13 (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm exc Bank Holidays)

If you live in Herefordshire, are over the age of 18 and registered with a GP call: 01432 347606 (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm exc Bank Holidays)

Silver Cloud

SilverCloud is an exciting online therapy programme proven to help manage stress, anxiety and depression. You work through a series of topics selected by a therapist to address specific needs. The eight-week course is designed to be completed in your own time and at your own pace.

SilverCloud uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help you change the way you think and feel about things. The course features videos, activities, quizzes, audio guides and your own online journal. 

The programme is available online. Use code HEREFORDSHIRE or WORCESTERSHIRE to access their modules online. 

Additional mental health and wellbeing support

The charity Mind provides information about how to plan for a crisis.

Samaritans has a free to call service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, if you want to talk to someone in confidence. Call them on 116 123
