We participate and get involved with different events across Herefordshire & Worcestershire to increase awareness and raise our profile. Below is a sample of some of events we’re getting involved with:
Samaritans Brew Monday will kick off on 17 January, the third Monday in January, which is usually known as ‘Blue Monday’. Samaritans turn this day on its head and into something positive by encouraging people to get together over a warming virtual cuppa. Our community development workers will be getting out and about to show our support for Samaritans activity around Brew Monday in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
Reach out to a friend, family member or colleague for a virtual cuppa and a chat. It doesn’t have to be a Monday or a cup of tea, just taking time to really listen to another person could help them work through what’s on their mind.
Because sharing a cuppa is more than a drink – it's about reaching out, checking in and staying connected.
Mental health problems affect one in four of us, yet too many people are made to feel isolated, ashamed and worthless because of this. Time to Talk Day encourages everyone to be more open about mental health – to talk, to listen, to change lives. We know that talking about mental health can feel awkward, but it doesn't have to.
Time to change who organise Time to Talk Day are encouraging everyone to have a conversation about mental health, whether that’s texting a friend, chatting to a colleague or organising a stigma-busting event. More details about the day will be released nearer the time.
Now We’re Talking for Healthy Minds and Now We’re Talking Acting Together to Prevent Suicide are coming together for an event at Hereford Football Club. More details to be released soon.
